2nd – Full Moon

6th to 20th – Curiosity Rover due to land on Mars

12th, 13th – Perseids Meteor Shower.  One of the best meteor showers to watch with up to 60 meteors raining down per hour at its peak. Best viewed after midnight to the Northeast.

17th – New Moon

24th – Neptune at Opposition.  Closest to the Earth however because of the distance, this blue planet is still not visible to the naked eye and will still only be a tiny blue dot for powerful telescopes.

31st – Full Moon
